1. 世界知的所有権機関（WIPO）の国際事務局は、2014年10月1日より、欧州連合を指定（国際出願又は事後指定のいずれか）する国際登録に記載された指定商品・役務について、欧州共同体商標意匠庁(OHIM)が曖昧な表示(vague terms)に関する審査を行う旨、出願人、名義人、締約国官庁及びマドリッド制度のユーザーにお知らせします。
2. この変更により、2014年2月20日付　“IP Translator（*）”　の実施に関する共同通知に概説されたとおり、OHIMの運用が欧州連合加盟国の知的財産庁の運用と一致することになります。

3. 運用の変更は、欧州連合を指定（国際出願又は事後指定のいずれか）し、2014年10月1日以降WIPO国際事務局からOHIMに通知された全ての国際登録に適用されます。
4. 結果として、欧州連合を指定（国際出願又は事後指定のいずれか）した国際登録でカバーされる商品及び役務のリストに表示された用語が、広すぎる(too broad)または曖昧である(too vague)及び明瞭と正確性を欠いている(lacking clarity and precision)とOHIMが判断した場合、OHIMは当該国際登録について暫定的拒絶通報を発行します。
5. OHIMが、広すぎる、または曖昧である、及び明瞭と正確性を欠いていると判断する11の用語リストは、別紙参照。
6. 運用変更に関する詳細は、OHIM (^*1)に直接お問い合わせいただくか、OHIM審査ガイドライン(^*2：the Guidelines for Examination in OHIM on Community Trade Marks, Part M, International Marks)を御覧ください。
