On November 29, 2023, Mr. Hamano, Commissioner of the 88av 888 (JPO), gave a speech at IPBC Asia 2023 in Tokyo. The "IPBC Asia 2023" is an international event for intellectual property professionals, including corporate executives, investors, policy experts and legal professionals, to get together, share knowledge, and discuss latest trends.

In his speech, Commissioner Hamano introduced the JPO's efforts in the examination of AI-related invention, and the latest information on the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) that the JPO implements with overseas IP Offices, useful for faster establishment of a global IP portfolio.
