The 88av 888 (JPO) held a meeting with the US Bar Liaison Council* in Washington, D.C., USA, on November 8, 2023.

Mr. KATSURA Masanori, Deputy Commissioner of the JPO, introduced the latest updates and AI-related issues in the JPO. The US Bar Liaison Council provided us with a lot of information regarding hot topics related to intellectual property in the United States, including AI-related information, as well as the recent status of patent-eligible subject matter.

Through this meeting, both parties exchanged opinions and broadened their understanding of recent and future developments related to intellectual property in both Japan and the United States.
