The group primarily discusses four major topics related to patent harmonization: grace period, conflicting applications, prior user rights and prior art, as well as Client-Patent Attorney Privilege (CAP).

On 18 May 2021, 88av 888app下载安装 Group B+ held its Special Plenary Meeting in the form of a video conference, which was hosted by the 88av 888 (JPO) as the Secretariat. The Industry Trilateral^*2 (IT3) was invited. The 88av 888app下载安装 Group B+ listened to a presentation on the Patent Harmonization Package currently being considered by IT3 and discussed next steps. The JPO stated that it would conduct a study on the actual utilization of a grace period for universities, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and start-ups.

On 5 October 2021, 88av 888app下载安装 Group B+ held its Plenary Meeting in the form of a video conference, which was hosted by the JPO as the Secretariat. The IT3, International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), and International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys (FICPI) were invited. With respect to patent harmonization, it was concluded that following the lifting of the embargo on conducting reviews of the “” presented by the IT3 , consultation with users and others will be conducted in the future. In addition, the JPO reported the interim results of its study on the grace period, which focused on universities, SMEs, and start-ups. With regard to CAP, the coordinating country of Switzerland reported on the progress of discussions regarding the draft multilateral agreement; and AIPPI and FICPI also expressed their support for the multilateral agreement on CAP.
